SKIING ÅRE 2005

Went April 10-16 i.e. 5 half-days of actual skiing. Trip arranged by Helena, Erik and Hans / DUNS (de unga med neurologiska rörelsehinder i Sverige). We stayed at Continental Inn Åre. The Hotel had a nice lounge to hang in ('välla') after dinner - the Moose Lounge!

SKI-CART - MY MAIN SKI GEAR

On top of Åreskutan. I skied 4,5 of 5 afternoons in this ski-cart, with the goal of getting a licence to ski medium-slopes ('blå pister') on my own. I suceeded, and put in the required amount of hours and passed all the different tests (such as slalom course, reverse stop moves, quick forward and reverse evasive manoevres etc). A ski-cart is like driving a go-cart but in the slopes. Fun, fast and dangerous! It looks a bit like the 'pod-racing' in the Star Wars movie, they probably got the idea from ski-carts!

THE TEACHERS & BI-SKI GEAR

Johan (teacher apprentice), me (trying for a license to ski-cart by myself) an Henrik (head teacher). In front of the bi-ski I got to try last day -wow, Henrik got his revenge driving me really fast in this bi-ski. I also tried bi-skiing on my own and ate some seríous snow but did OK. Next year...

SIT-SKI

Requires you to have perfect balance, which I don't have (yet). So I didn't sit-ski. But I did bi-ski, which is the same as a sit-ski but with two narrow skis smack-together underneath, and is a bit easier.
